Defense Point Security is currently seeking a Cyber SOC (Security Operations Center) Program Manager for an opening in Washington, DC.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strong leadership and prior management experience in operating a full-featured SOC using a wide variety of security tools for monitoring a large-scale enterprise environment
  • Lead a team of Security Analysts in a 24x7x365 SOC, responsible for ensuring the security of a large-scale network
  • Lead all activities of the SOC ensure that the SOC is performing all required tasks in accordance with defined policies, standards, and security best practices
  • Provide appropriate updates to his/her management regarding security event handling, trends, analysis, incident response resolutions and lessons learned

Job Qualifications:

  • This position requires US Citizenship due to our Federal contractual obligation
  • Bachelors degree
  • 8-10 years related work experience, including prior experience working as a Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT), Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT), Computer Security Incident Response Center (CSIRC) or a SOC analyst
  • 5+ years of management experience, and thorough knowledge of all aspects of managing and running a successful SOC
  • Strong working knowledge associated Anti-Virus solutions, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems, Firewalls, Active Directory, Web Proxies, Vulnerability Assessment tools and other tools found in large enterprise network environments; along with experience working with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions
  • Familiarity with various network and host-based security applications and tools, such as network and host assessment/scanning tools, network and host based intrusion detection systems, and other security software packages
  • Keep up to date on the latest attacks, vulnerabilities, and trends associated with the cyber security industry and manage a team to defend and protect a large enterprise network
  • Working knowledge of threats and mitigating strategies associated with large enterprise networks, data centers, and an understanding of challenges associated with having a large, diverse user-base
  • Experience within the Department of Homeland Security or other government agencies are preferred
  • Previous experience working in a large government or corporate enterprise environment is a requirement
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification
  • GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA), or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification is desired
