Defense Point Security is currently seeking a Cyber Intelligence Analyst in Washington, D.C. with an active Top Secret level security clearance.

Job Requirements:

  • Perform Internet research
  • Provide source monitoring activities, cyber threat analysis and mitigation courses of action, provide the actionable intelligence used in organizational IT Asset protection, strategic cyber threat trending and situational awareness of customer leadership
  • Compile cyber threat data gathered through Internet information from social media, chats, forums, darknet, Tor network, news feeds, internet relay chats and other sources of data openly available on the Internet
  • Perform prioritized assessment of the data to identify the most critical and reliable data in order to identify bitcoins, locations, accounts, services, travels, email addresses, IP addresses and other pattern of life data in an effort to determine physical attribution of an Internet identity
  • Create intelligence and investigative reports which represent the steps taken, the data sources reviewed and the conclusions drawn from the evaluation of the Internet information

Job Qualifications:

  • This position requires US Citizenship due to our Federal contractual obligation
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT discipline
  • Experience working in a Cyber Crimes Center (C3)
  • 7 years of experience in information security operations and/or related IT operational functions
  • 3 years of experience related to threat management, intelligence analysis/management (private or government), and statistical analysis in Intelligence, financial, or technology service companies
  • Must possess one of the following certifications: Security +. CPTE, CEH, CISSP
  • Experience in reconnaissance and advanced search analytics (targeting, information gathering, data-mining, consolidation) and is someone with technical skill in data analytics and some coding
  • Demonstrated experience using cyber intelligence tools and software tools to actively search and mine the publicly available Internet and the darknet/deep web. An advanced understanding of the methods used by cyber-criminals to hide themselves on the Internet, how the cyber-criminals conduct online business and what are the various market places and forums the cyber-criminals operate within
  • Demonstrated experience to represent analysis and research results using tabular, pictorial or graphical techniques
  • Demonstrated experience in such visual tools as Microstrategy, Tableau and/or i2 Analyst Notebook
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting and efficiently analyzing virtual currency transactions on the blockchain. Able to identify, collect, recognize, and review indicators of for specific virtual currency wallets
  • Proven track record of intelligence gathering, analysis, and reporting. Including experience with delivering summary results to various levels of an organization in formats which are easy to understand; showing conclusions and relationships.
  • Experience in Cyber Intelligence concepts and implementation, and cyber intrusion kill chain concepts and implementation

Preferred qualifications:

  • Formal ( college or university) cyber crime education/courses
  • One of two McAfee Certs that are recognized by US CERT and DHS related to Intelligence.
    1 - CCIP Certified Cyber Intelligence Professional 
    2 - CCTA Certified Counterintelligence Threat Analyst
  • Proficient with security automation using Python, Perl, BASH, PowerShell, or other scripting languages for Windows, LINUX, UNIX
  • Prior experience supporting a SOC and/or SOC event analysis tools experience such as Splunk or ArcSight
  • Military or Law Enforcement Intelligence/Analysis experience
  • Experience in black hat pen testing
