Defense Point Security is currently seeking a Human Resources Director in Fairfax, VA.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Direct and execute HR agenda, evaluating business strategies/needs, proposing HR strategy and adapting solutions
  • Accountable for, prepare and present for management analysis using key HR operations and talent metrics, articulating the underlying story behind the results
  • Facilitate decisions and implement specific actions to address any issues
  • Provide feedback and input for improvement of existing HR programs, processes and policies
  • Accountable for delivering consistent, standardized and effective HR services
  • Monitor and evaluate HR trends highlighting implications for the business and adjusting strategies
  • Provide coaching and guidance on career development of HR team members (training, supervision, evaluation)
  • Plan and deliver training, coaching and mentoring required to ensure that HR teams possess the capability and confidence to perform to the highest level
  • Direct & facilitate annual performance management and rewards activities for the business
  • Resource Forecasting & Planning: Link people demand forecasts to the business forecasts and create a supporting supply plan to meet that demand. Use the outputs of that process to drive actions to enable the supply chain to execute to the plan
  • Work with business leaders to set and adjust strategic direction and actions to keep supply/demand in balance and provide consultative, problem-solving support for business issues when escalated
  • Engage with business leadership in addressing recruitment challenges, develop and prioritize recruiting and sourcing and key recruiting initiatives
  • Develop and support business wide engagement programs working to understand/sustain/improve employee engagement and maximize retention
  • Identify & implement People programs, optimizing employee engagement and work experience
  • Coach line managers and career counselors, enabling them to develop and guide employees and become more effective in handling people matters
  • Offer knowledge and guidance when rolling out policies and processes and communicating policy changes
  • Act as a policy counsel and subject matter expert for all HR policies and partner and coordinate with overall parent/affiliate company policies process
  • Act as escalation point in managing sensitive employee situations and to review instances of employee misconduct, including investigating and recommending disciplinary action weighing the extent of violation, fairness of action and local employment laws
  • Assist the Corporate Investigations team in reviewing Business Ethics Line matters and conducting local employee investigations

Job Qualifications:

  • This position requires U.S. Citizenship due to our Federal contractual obligation
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 12 years of progressive HR and Talent Management experience
  • Experience supporting a government contracting organization 
  • Demonstrated supervisory responsibilities and team leadership in professional setting
  • Deep insight on market trends, best practices, legal developments and technology for HR
  • Experience partnering with executives to establish and drive an HR agenda
  • Experience interacting with employees at all levels within the organization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HR Generalist experience
  • Human Resource Management certification
  • Focuses on achieving organization goals and objectives
  • Recognizes and highlights potential issues and barriers during assignments
  • Ability to build, sustain and influence relationships, and develop networks as appropriate
  • Able to help analyze complex problems and provide input into solutions
  • Proficiency with Excel (e.g., pivot tables, data analysis, etc.) and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting
  • Program management skills
  • Excellent data analysis skills
