Defense Point Security is seeking a Management Reporting Specialist / Tech Writer in Washington, D.C. with an active Secret level security clearance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure programs are being run smoothly, by providing intermediary communications support between our DPS technical and management teams and our customer
  • Responsible for the design, development, implementation and support of mission-critical reports
  • Gather and document reporting and dashboard requirements to meet business needs
  • Design, develop, test and implement reports and dashboards that use the underlying data sources
  • Work with technical DPS team to gather required inputs for reports and then gather and organize required content for distribution to the intended audience
  • Develop standardized plan for distributing information through appropriate mediums and review with Director/PM and customer POCs
  • Communicate complex and technical information in a format that will help DPS and customer decision makers digest the information in a concise and quick fashion (e.g. Graphs, Diagrams, Charts, etc.)
  • Assist DPS team in how to best ingest and visualize data for management dashboards (including advising team on their development of Splunk dashboards)
  • Gather user feedback and make improvements in the communication process and reports
  • Understand the contractual requirements of the program, and support the Director/PM in quality assurance tasks related to deliverable scheduling and acceptance (e.g. weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual reporting)
  • Design report layout and determine best way to offer data to end users
  • Implement business processes on report development and maintenance
  • Translate customer requirements into specifications that will be used to implement the required reports and dashboards, created from potentially multiple data sources
  • Provide support as required to ensure the availability and performance of developed reports and dashboards
  • Provide technical assistance and cross training to other team members
  • Design and implement technology best practices, guidelines and repeatable processes

Job Requirements:

  • This position requires U.S. Citizenship due to our Federal contractual obligation
  • 2 years experience as a program control specialist and/or technical writer
  • Expertise in Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to interface between multiple teams, program management, and senior leadership of our customer
  • Must be able to understand complex technical information
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, and assess and adjust quickly to changing priorities
  • Experience developing and implementing reports and dashboards including:
    -Working with users in a requirements analysis role
    -Experience with data warehouse implementations
    -Experience using applications/tools to generate reports in a graphical format - either as charts or dashboards

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree is preferred
  • Experience with cyber security and government contracting
