Defense Point Security is currently seeking a Senior Identity and Access Management Security Engineer in Washington, D.C.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform design, installation, configuration, tuning, orchestration capacity planning and administration of design Public Key Infrastructures (PKIs), including use of Certification Authorities (CAs), Hardware Security Modules (HSM), digital signatures as well as hardware and software; adhering to NIST standards
  • Perform design, installation, configuration, tuning, orchestration capacity planning and administration of network and security technologies, develop requirements for LANs, WANs, VPNs, routers, firewalls, and related security and network devices
  • Perform configuration, tuning, scripting and orchestration of Microsoft server platforms, including Active Directory
  • Implement security systems by specifying intrusion detection methodologies and equipment, direct equipment and software installation and calibration, prepare preventive and reactive measures
  • Determine security requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements, research information security standards, conduct system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments, study architecture/platform and identify integration issues
  • Verify security systems by developing and implementing test scripts
  • Upgrade security systems by monitoring security environment; identify security gaps; evaluate and implementing enhancements
  • Prepare system security reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
  • Maintain security by monitoring and ensuring compliance to standards, policies, and procedures, conduct incident response analyses, and develop/deliver training or guidance to technical community
  • Perform analysis on event monitoring of network security solutions to identify gaps, recommend and implement configuration changes to the SIEM (Splunk and/or FortiSIEM)
  • Ensure existing network infrastructure and configuration standards are adhered to when delivering projects
  • Deploy and document changes in accordance with enterprise project management lifecycle and change management processes
  • Take initiative to proactively identify solutions to potential network issues / embrace network simplification and strengthened security
  • Lead problem management and root cause analysis discussions with fellow network engineers, security engineers and analysts
  • Draft technical requirements, configuration management, and planning documentation
  • Support the Security Impact Analysis (SIA), an analysis that is conducted by the security team to review the extent to which changes to the information system will affect the security state of the system
  • Perform implementation of security and compliance-based use cases based on the NIST 800-53 Rev4 security controls

Job Qualifications:

  • This position requires U.S. Citizenship due to our Federal contractual obligation
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 6 years experience with all phases of identity and access management, including certificate authority, HSM, PKI, privileged access management (CyberArk), and PIV-based credential management
  • 2 years experience performing security assessments and drafting security documentation
  • Ability to understand and break down complex networks with minimum supervision
  • CISSP, GCIH, GSEC, GISP and other similar industry certifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MCSE, CCNA, CCIE or similar industry certification
