Defense Point Security is currently seeking a Security Lead in Chantilly, VA.

Security Lead Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide security program support to multifaceted team members specializing in information security policy, engineering, and monitoring. The Security Lead manages the following:
  • Manage Security Engineering activities (both O&M and new tool integration) and provide Security Architecture advice on future changes to the system & environment, make recommendations to future security enhancements, manage new/upgraded tool implementations such as Tanium, Cloud Security solutions such as AWS/Azure, etc.
  • Help understand how MDR (Managed Detection & Response) is an integral component of the future state security vision; while also driving the integration and usage of this solution. Research new threats, attack vectors, and risk to the program; determine the likelihood that identified vulnerabilities may be exploited and provide an analysis which includes recommended remediation strategies for comprehensive security program improvements.
  • Stand up Pen Test capability; this will include working with a Senior Pen Tester on setting up client requirements gathering, documenting and obtaining sign off of rules of engagement, completing targeted vulnerability research, conducting a campaign, and then documenting associated findings report/briefing with the client.
  • Provide guidance and innovative approaches to a team completing IA activities such as evaluating security controls, FIMSA documentation/ATO packages, etc.

Security Lead Job Qualifications:

  • This position requires US Citizenship due to our Federal contractual obligation.
  • Bachelors degree
  • 6 years of Cyber Security experience
  • Experience managing activities related to information security policy, engineering, and monitoring.
  • Experience providing appropriate updates regarding security event handling, trends, analysis, incident response resolutions and lessons learned.
  • Deliver technical expertise in the management of O&M and new tool integration activities.
  • Ability to build a monitoring program that is both contextualized and repeatable.
  • Understanding of incident response, from monitoring to digital media analysis/malware analysis.
  • Assisting in the penetration test effort throughout the program.
  • Supporting the security assessment process from initial ATO process to continuous monitoring. This include identifying new risks, track findings, managing Plan-of-Action and Milestone (POA&M) closure and mitigation planning and remediation of controls in the Cloud environment

Security Lead Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Cyber Security Compliance; Security Tools (Tenable, Tripwire, IBM AppScan)
