Defense Point Security is currently seeking a Security Architect in Chantilly, VA.

Security Architect Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide feedback to design engineers and evaluate end-to-end systems and system-oriented products through their entire life cycle
  • Conduct research and evaluate technical performance of software products and overall segments and systems
  • Ensure products and systems comply with requirements, government information assurance, cyber security standards, and practices through formal verification methods
  • Verify/validate systems with specific emphasis on network operations and cyber warfare tactics, techniques, and procedures focused on the threat to information networks
  • Assess performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures
  • Prepare assessments and cyber threat profiles of current and planned products based on sophisticated testing, research, and analysis
  • Participate in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements
  • Review test plans/procedures and ensures they verify/validate the requirements
  • Develop and maintains analytical procedures to meet changing requirements
  • Produce high-quality papers, presentations, recommendations, and findings for senior US government intelligence and operations officials
  • Responsible for the design, build, security accreditation, and deployment of cybersecurity solutions
  • Work closely with the customer's security team and IT service providers to install and configure cyber security products to defend, monitor, and alert security operations or other key security personnel
  • Design and implement customized solutions to meet specific customer goals and develop enhancements to the existing suite of cyber security tools

Security Architect Required Qualifications:

  • This position requires U.S. Citizenship due to our Federal contractual obligation
  • BA/BS degree in Cyber Security Management, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Math, Business or other related field
  • 10 years of IT experience
  • 6 years of cyber security experience
  • Experience leading teams and working independently on multiple tasks while overseeing team members or differing skill levels
  • Experience in the application of security architecture and engineering principles and best practices within a Federal or corporate environment
  • Understanding and application of IT security operations principles and best practices within a Federal environment
  • Experience performing risk assessments for security impact within a change management paradigm
  • Experience advising, developing and implementing an enterprise security architecture and CONOPS within a Federal environment
  • Understanding and application of network security principles and best practices with a Federal environment
  • Understanding of the modern cyber security stack (tools such as Splunk, EnCase, Nessus, McAfee Endpoint Security, and FireEye), how they function and where they fit in an enterprise security architecture
  • Understanding of or experience with DevSecOps or Agile methodologies

Security Architect Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF), specifically demonstrated
  • Relevant industry certifications - CISSP, CASP, CSSLP
  • Experience with the patch management processes and tools
  • Experience with IT process optimization, development and implementation
  • Hands-on experience with either network security devices or endpoint security technologies
  • Experience with Networking devices and technologies
