Defense Point Security is currently seeking a Information System Security Officer (ISSO) with an active TS/SCI clearance in St. Louis, MO.

ISSO Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, review, and coordinate cybersecurity policies and formal client policy taskers;
  • Review, comment, and provide impact assessments of new or revised policies, processes, directives, and guidance;
  • Develop, coordinate, update, and maintain client Cybersecurity Directives, Instructions, and Manuals and ensure consistency with applicable law, Federal regulations, and relevant policies.
  • Create and maintain a formal cybersecurity communications strategy.
  • Use industry standard data science techniques to organize and analyze cybersecurity data to deliver meaningful reports and recommendations based on this analysis.
  • Use Federal Certification and Accreditation (C&A) processes to research, verify and document information security controls in order for the "systems" to be accredited.
  • Communicate and enforce security policies, procedures and safeguards for all systems and staff, based upon NIST and/or DIACAP.
  • Analyze and advise on the risk and remediation of security issues based on reports from vulnerability assessment scanners, patch management tools, and emerging threat information.
  • Initiate, coordinate and track the patching and remediation of security weaknesses as they are discovered, via a "Plan of Actions and Milestones" (POAM).
  • Report on security status and security incidents.
  • Conduct Security Authorization document reviews.
  • Create and compile Authorization packages to include: Designation Letters, Security Plans, Contingency Plans, SOPs.
  • Conduct meeting with Government leadership and briefing on the State of Security for the systems in their purview.
  • Provide oversight and guidance regarding requests to modify technical policies such as firewall rules, ports, protocols, etc. for each IT system.
  • Work with auditors to identify Key Controls which must be assessed on a recurring annual basis.

ISSO Job Qualifications:

  • This position requires US Citizenship due to our Federal contractual obligation
  • Bachelors Degree
  • 7 years of IT experience
  • 5 years of Information Assurance Experience
  • DoD 8570 IAM III Certification
  • Knowledge of Federal government C&A practices and policies, particularly ICS 503, FISMA, NISP SP 800-53, and DHS 4300. Ability to work independently and also collaborate closely with application developers, engineers and others.
  • Experience in DoD policy review and analysis
  • Experience with cyber communication strategies and information sharing

ISSO Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Experience with IC and DoD cyber security mandates, FISMA
  • Experience with SharePoint to communicate information
  • Experience with information assurance tools
  • Experience with vulnerability assessment scanning tools and reporting
