Defense Point Security is currently seeking a Privacy Specialist in Washington D.C.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide the client with Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and privacy support to ensure compliance with the Privacy Act and other Federal Privacy policies
  • Review and evaluate the client's privacy documentation to include the Privacy Screening Form and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA) for all systems
  • Maintaining a PIA tracking system and identifying privacy vulnerabilities and areas of noncompliance
  • Provide recommendations to meet compliance and efficiency standards, and support growth of junior resources

Job Qualifications:

  • This position requires US Citizenship due to our Federal contractual obligations
  • 7 years experience in Information Privacy
  • In depth knowledge of Privacy Act of 1974, E-Government Act of 2002, NIST 800 Special Publications, OMB guidance related to information privacy, OMB Circular A-130, and other significant federal privacy regulations, guidance and policies
  • Knowledge of the NIST Risk Management Framework, including working knowledge of family of privacy controls outlined in NIST SP 800-53, Rev. 4, Appendix J.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal laws and directives pertaining to information privacy and security

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree 
  • Relevant training in information privacy and/or information security
  • Relevant information privacy certification - CIPP, CIPP-G, CIPP-US, CIPT, or CIPM
