Defense Point Security is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fulfill a role as a Senior Palo Alto Professional Services Consultant with an Active Secret level Security Clearance for a travel position. 

Senior Palo Alto Professional Services Consultant Job Responsibilities:

  • Assistance with planning and design, in addition to implementation tasks.
  • Provide planning and delivery support to DPS customers.
  • Provide customer support for Palo Alto Next Generation Firewalls including engineering, implementation and migration within the customer's environment.
  • Work closely with both customer and Palo Alto points of contact to ensure the provided solution meets or exceeds customer's expectations.
  • Lead assigned engagements, but will report to their practice Team Lead and Delivery Manager for scheduling, day-to-day operations, technical support as needed, and training.
  • Review customer's existing documentation and configurations to provide recommendations and best-practice guidance.
  • Ensure existing network security infrastructure and configuration standards are adhered to when delivering projects.
  • Draft technical requirements, configuration management, and planning documentation on a customer-by-customer basis.
  • Integrate Palo Alto security technologies across cloud environments such as Amazon / AWS, Azure, etc.
  • Develop and execute test plans to check migrated security infrastructures and system performance.
  • Implement network security best practices for Palo Alto Next Generation Firewalls.
  • Research various network equipment; routers, switches, etc. and recommend configuration options when integrating the Palo Alto Next General Firewall.
  • Schedule and lead project kick off call with customer prior to project start.
  • Provide project deliverables to both DPS and customer teams in a timely manner, meeting all deadlines.
  • Refer follow-on or new sales opportunities to internal DPS support team.
  • Maintain Palo Alto Networks certification and complete relevant industry training as needed and coordinated with DPS.

Senior Palo Alto Professional Services Consultant Job Qualifications:

  • This position requires U.S. citizenship due to federal contractual obligations
  • Travel (60-70%) to customer sites deploying Palo Alto Network solutions
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Must hold Palo Alto PNCSE certification or possess the qualifications to sit for PNCSE exam
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of network routing protocols to include but not limited to OSPF, BGP and EIGRP
  • Experience operating in Unix/Linux environments
  • 7 years of related experience in Network Security Engineering to include firewall implementation, configuration and fault isolation
  • Experience with supporting both physical and virtual machines and appliances
  • Excellent understanding of TCP/IP networking

Senior Palo Alto Professional Services Consultant Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of various security tools (e.gl, AV, HIPS, firewalls, VPN, DLP, etc.) experience with various DLP solutions, McAfee Webgateway, BlueCoat Proxy, Sourcefire IDS/IPS, Cisco firewalls, Checkpoint Firewalls, Fortinet Firewalls preferred
  • Desirable certifications include Palo Alto ACE 8.0, Palo Alto PNCSE 8.0, CCNA, CCNA Security, Security+, CISSP
  • Experience supporting both federal and commercial customers
